Bomb Rocks Iraq Parliament Building

I heard this on the radio this morning, but wasn’t sure if it was a bomb or a gas can explosion…Now I guess it’s true it was a bomb.

Two of Iraq’s lawmakers are dead, and now we have a major security breach issue.

Also, At least 10 people are dead also following a homicide truck bomb that took out a major Baghdad bridge over the Tigris River.

Quote of the Day, Issue #7

"Like the body, television is a good servant but a poor master."

–Steven R. Covey, author of The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, Founder of Covey Leadership Center

Wandering around outside

I was at my sister’s house last weekend, and they have this old hand pump by their back door. I like old stuff like this, so I decided to take a picture of it.

I went over there, because they wanted to celebrate my birthday with me. I had a great time. We ate spaghetti and she cooked two cakes – butterscotch and German chocolate. I absolutely loved both of them!

We also watched a movie, “Facing the Giants”. Fabulous movie! I recommend it to everyone to watch. It deals with facing your biggest fears, and it relates the issue to where everyone – young and old – can understand it.

Here’s a picture of their Japanese magnolia. I looked up a little bit about this plant, and it’s actually called a Mulan Magnolia, native to southwest China. It was first introduced to English-speaking countries from cultivated Japanese origins, hence the name “Japanese” magnolia. It can grow to 4 meters, or over 12 feet, tall.

Just thought I’d include a little background info.

Well, I have to run and grab a bite to eat, so until later…

Breaking News: British Sailors to Be Freed

According to this article on Fox News, Iranian President Mahmound Ahmadinejad is "freeing" the 15 British sailors that they captured. I agree with The Ace, I can’t wait to hear what the libs have to say about this… Personally I think this was all staged to make Mr. Mahmoud "Iwantajihad" look good, despite his defiance of the world’s stance against their enriching uranium. That way, if the world wanted to take a much harder stance, he could stand back and say, "I showed good will by releasing the British sailors, why don’t you show good will by letting us develop a nuclear energy program?"

Okay, liberals, what are you going to say (negatively) about our President now?
