Tuesday Twosome: “What you didn’t know about me…”

Since I’m a little short on writing content (you might say I’m suffering from “blogger’s block”), here is today’s meme:

  1. Two nicknames that friends and family call me:  “Big E” and “Erk” (from high school).
  2. Two items of clothing I would never get rid of:  Um, my MSU cap and leather sandals.
  3. Two movies that I can watch over and over again:  Any “Star Wars” movie and “King Arthur”.
  4. Two people that have influenced me the most:  Okay, this one’s going to get somebody mad, probably.  But I would have to say my wife and my brother.
  5. Two goals/dreams I hope to fulfill in my lifetime:  I would like to get my Master’s degree and build a new home.  Oh, I would also like to travel to Australia and New Zealand and take the “Lord of the Rings” tour. (I just couldn’t stop at two.)

Vacation - A Tuesday Twosome Meme

  1. When was the last time you went on vacation and where did you go?  I went on vacation the weekend of May 17-20 and it was to the Beach Club in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
  2. Do you prefer vacations with family or friends?   Family.   Haven’t really been on a vacation with friends in seven years.
  3. What are your two ideal vacation spots?   Um, Rome, Italy and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.
  4. When is your next vacation and who are you going with?   I guess my next vacation is during Christmas and I’m going with my wife and her family.
  5. Do you think vacations are necessary?  Explain.   Vacations are absolutely essential, because they help you forget about all the stresses that everyday life brings and helps you relax and take in what really is important.

Tuesday Twosome: “Do you consider yourself to be more of a/an…”

  1. Pessimistic or optimistic person? Explain.  Well, I consider myself leaning more towards the optimistic side, but I do find myself every once in a while being pessimistic.  There are some things, I’ve found, that you can’t help but be pessimistic about, like the latest Amnes-er, “Immigration Reform” bill.
  2. Stubborn or docile person? Explain.  Most of the time, I’m docile.  But if you get me mad or if there’s something I truly believe in, I become really, really stubborn.  I used to be more of a stubborn person, but my wife is straightening me out (it’s slowly taking, but all the more surely). :)
  3. Annoying or agreeable person? Explain.  I think I’m pretty agreeable.  I hope I’m not annoying!  (Although I do have a tendency to get on my wife’s nerves sometimes by being stupid!)
  4. Cautious or impetuous person? Explain.  This one’s easy.  I’m a cautious person.  I never really do anything impetuous.
  5. Generous or stingy person? Explain.  I prefer the word “frugal”. :)  J/K  I’m pretty generous - most of the time - except when we’re in a “bill crunch”.  Then I get stingy.

When you have to do without…

1.  Internet service, how do you react and what is the first thing you do?

Well, I stomp my feet, say “Oh Crap!”, try to fix it (if I can),  then either go to the TV or grab a book!

2.  Electricity, how do you react and what is the first thing you do?

I say, “Oh crap!” and then I start hunting for the flashlight…

3.  Cell phone or home phone service, how do you react and what is the first thing you do?

I jump up and down and say “Hooray!”  I then go to the computer, TV, or grab a book!

4.  Cable/Dish TV, how do you react and what is the first thing you do?

I shrug my shoulders and go to the computer.

5.  Air Conditioning/heat, how do you react and what is the first thing you do?

I say “Oh crap!” and start opening windows/grabbing blankets.

I’m really exciting, “ain’t” I?
