Obama Wins the Nomination

So, Barack Hussein Obama has done it.  He has beat Hillary Rodham Clinton and has become the Democratic presidential candidate.  All I can say is – It’s about time the primaries are over.
I don’t know about you, but I’m sick and tired of politics.  I am burned out on seeing politicians make promises they can’t and won’t keep.  I am tired of the back-biting and back-stabbing.  I am sick of the candidates’ faces being flashed on the news every 30 seconds.

Now, the Chicago Tribune has a list of five reasons HRC lost:

  1. Her campaign was too corporate.
  2. She didn’t recognize the threat.
  3. She invested heavily in Iowa.
  4. She had no coherent post-Super Tuesday plan.
  5. She failed to connect with African-American voters.

That makes sense.  They left out one, though.  She was caught lying about past events.  They also have a list of five reasons BHO won and a list of five differences between BHO and JSM.  But now I want to give you my list of five things we look forward to with Barack Hussein Obama, if he wins in November:

  1. Higher taxes.  He will raise taxes across the board.
  2. Less national defense and less national security. He has said he will cut defense spending and get rid of missile defense systems, which could prove as a necessary deterrent in the future.
  3. More illegal immigration and amnesty for illegal aliens.  He will institute amnesty for the illegals here and will do nothing to stop the flow over our Southern border.
  4. Higher national budget deficit.  His universal healthcare program will alone bankrupt the system.
  5. More terrorist attacks on U.S. holdings.  His “national defense policy” - if you can call it that - of “talking” to hostile regimes (i.e. Iran, North Korea, Syria, etc.) with no preconditions will embolden the terrorists, make him appear weak, and pave the way for him to become the next Neville Chamberlain.  (If you don’t know who that is, look up your World War II history.)

Get ready, folks. It is coming if he wins in November. Our country will no longer be the greatest nation in the world. It will become the laughing stock of the globe.

Bill Richardson Endorses Barack Obama

Now, this is interesting.  I thought Richardson was in Hillary’s camp.  This will no doubt help Obama with the Hispanic vote.  Obama’s speech is going on right now.  Scroll down for updates.

12:09 pm - Barack says he "can’t be more honored" for Richardson’s endorsement.

12:14 pm - Barack is giving his typical stump speech.  "I believe in Dr. King’s ‘Fierce Urgency of Now’", Obama says.  "We cannot afford to wait."  He bashes the Iraq War and Bush’s "No Child Left Behind" program…Now, my wife is becoming a teacher and she hates the "No Child Left Behind" program.

12:20 pm - Now Fox News is breaking from the speech.  It was his typical "stump" speech anyway.

Dem wants to raise your gas taxes

Say it isn’t so!  A democrat wanting to raise taxes?  As Gomer Pyle would say, “Surprise! Surprise!  Surprise!”  Not:

A Michigan congressman wants to put a 50-cent tax on every gallon of gasoline to try to cut back on Americans’ consumption.

Polls show that a majority of Americans support policies that would reduce greenhouse gases. But when it comes to paying for it, it’s a different story.

Rep. John Dingell, D-Mich., wants to help cut consumption with a gas tax but some don’t agree with the idea, according to a new poll by the National Center for Public Policy Research.

I’m not for making people pay more for gas.  We already have enough taxes on gas.  For example, the combined local, state and federal tax on fuel here in Mississippi is 37.2¢ per gallon.  Residents of New York pay 59.6¢, and California residents pay a whopping 63.9¢ per gallon.  The U.S. average is 47¢ per gallon.

To make Americans pay more for gas now would be ludicrous.  Americans are already having a tough time paying for their homes and bills.  I believe we need to take what money we have collected and use that to fund our conversion over to more conservative fuels, such as sugar-cane-derivative ethanol or biofuels.  Brazil has had tremendous success with SGD ethanol…Why can’t we do it?  To me, raising taxes on petroleum-based gasoline before having a widely-available alternative energy source is putting the cart before the horse.  Once we have that alternative energy source, then impose the higher tax to try to get people to switch over to it.  Don’t just raise the tax as a punishment for using the only energy source we currently have.

Some people just can’t think things out.

Obama wins The Magnolia State

Well, it’s over.  Barack Hussein Obama has won Mississippi.  And he won it by a landslide.  60.71%…That’s just unbelievable.

I really don’t have much to say about this; I’m just flabbergasted.  I really thought it would be a tighter race.  But I will say this:  What do you people see in this guy?  He doesn’t have any executive experience.   He has no foreign policy experience.  Heck, he almost doesn’t have any legislative experience!  Are you really just voting for him because he’s a good communicator and he’s talking “change”??  Geez, people…wake up!!

Oh well.  I guess the majority of our country wants to pay much higher taxes and to lose the fight against extreme Islamists.

Go here for the results of the Mississippi Primary.

Calling all Mississippi Republicans!

This is something I’d never thought I’d do, but as the Republican candidate is in the bag, I’m calling all Republicans from the great Magnolia State to "crossover".  When you go to the polls on Tuesday, just ignore the Republican ticket.  Vote Democrat.  Vote Hillary Clinton.

All Democrats out there understand this.  This is the only time I will be advocating this.  I never thought I’d be calling for people to vote for Billary, but looking at the candidates the lesser of two evils is definitely her.

So when you go out there on Tuesday, please, please Republicans - vote for Hillary.  We don’t want Obama to be the Democratic candidate.

Clinton says she’ll be there for us Mississippians

In her speech on Thursday night, Hillary Clinton said:

Some people have said Mississippi will most likely be in favor of Obama. I said, well that’s fine, but I want people in Mississippi to know I want to be there for you.

She said she would hire a staffer with the sole responsibility of providing progress reports on the Gulf Coast’s recovery from Hurricane Katrina.

Hmm..okay, whatever.  And that’s increasing the level of response she says we haven’t had?  Yeah, right.  I’m going to have to go back and find out how many times she came down here after the storm.

How about some feel-good music?

Clinton’s “Mississippi” Comment is back in the news…

Remember when, while campaigning in Iowa, Democratic Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton said this:

“I was shocked when I learned Iowa and Mississippi have never elected a woman governor, senator or member of Congress. There has got to be something at work here…How can Iowa be ranked with Mississippi?  That’s not the quality. That’s not the communitarianism, that’s not the openness I see in Iowa.”

Well, apparently Barack Obama’s campaign is going to try to hold her accountable for the comment.  Her comment made a lot of Mississippians mad, and she has not apologized for the comment.  I would like to see her try and explain just exactly what she meant.  Either way, it will definitely hurt her even more than she is already hurting.

Plus, with our large African-American population (especially in the Delta), I don’t think she has a chance of carrying The Magnolia State.

It’s definitely going to be an interesting weekend.  Oh, by the way, Hillary will be in Canton tonight.  According to the Clarion-Ledger, she will be at the state Democratic Party’s Jefferson Jackson Hamer Day Dinner.  It begins at 7:30 in the Canton Multipurpose and Equine Center.  Tickets are $125 each.  Bill will be in Hattiesburg, Meridian and Tupelo on Friday.

Illegal Immigration Watch: New Bill Passed by MS House Requiring Citizenship Check

UPDATE (5:13 p.m.):  The House gave final passage to the bill, voting 111-8 in favor of it.  Now it goes to the Governor’s desk.  It also requires that an online database be kept and employers use it to determine if their potential employees are actually U.S. citizens.  Click here for the updated article.

The Mississippi House of Representatives passed a Senate bill this morning that would require a U.S. citizenship check by employers for new employees.

Per the Sun Herald:

The bill could come up for debate in the House this afternoon, and if it passes there, would wind up on Gov. Haley Barbour’s desk to be signed into law. Sen. Michael Watson, R-Pascagoula, who was elected last fall, authored the bill.

“I’m extremely excited that the Judiciary B committee in the House has decided to allow the full House to debate this bill on its merits,” Watson said in a news release. “Hopefully, this is the first step in the right direction in curbing the illegal immigration problems our state and our nation are facing.”

Way to go!  I’m extremely proud of our lawmakers.  Now maybe the rest of the nation will follow suit.

I’ll keep you updated on the progress of the bill.

Man, I missed it!

Apparently I missed an exciting night of politics.  John Sidney McCain won the Republican nomination.  Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton won Ohio, Texas, and Rhode Island.  Barack Hussein Obama only won Vermont (thanks to Ben & Jerry).  Wow, must have been exciting to watch for the Dhimmis!  (I was too busy sleeping like a baby.)

Now the whole nation turns its eyes to Mississippi.  Forty delegates are up for grabs for Democrats.  They will be proportionally awarded, so I think Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton and Barack Hussein Obama will be campaigning hard here over the next week.  And they will have to campaign hard.  Mississippians aren’t gullible, and they aren’t stupid.  It will take some convincing.  I am curious as to who Dems think will win.  So, who do you think will win The Magnolia State - Diane?

Scary Hillary Clinton

or Hussein?

The "Change" and "Blame Bush" Debate

Okay.  My wife and I decided it would be fun to tally how many times Billary and Osama - err, Obama - said “change” and “It’s Bush’s fault”.  So here’s the count (so far):

(As of 8:30 p.m. CST):

“Change”

Obama:   9

Clinton:   2

“Blame Bush”

Obama:  3

Clinton:  10 11

Cheshire Cat (courtesy Michael Savage) Smile:

Obama:  O minutes

Clinton:  120+ minutes….Was her botox frozen?

Oh my gosh…did Obama say “Tah-leeeee-ban” and “Pahk-i-stan”??   (Come mistah Tahliban, tahli meee Osama!)

Disclaimer:  Due to bad weather, the count may not be entirely accurate….It may be more!

Here’s the “Osama Bomb” video…Just thought I’d give ya some entertainment!
