I’ve got health problems

Well, today has been an interesting day. I was at work working on a ship when, all of a sudden, I started feeling really dizzy and there was a somewhat dull pain in my forehead. My heart was racing, and I think I almost started to panic.

Well, I got off the ship as quickly as I possibly could, then got a guy walking by to call the ambulance. They came and immediately checked my heart rate and blood pressure…128 and 158/95 respectively. They have never been that high before!

Well, needless to say, I went straight to the doctor. They performed an EKG and re-took my blood pressure and pulse. My pulse was in the mid-80s, but my blood pressure was still sky high. An arrhythmia also showed up on my EKG. So now I’m scheduled for an echocardiogram (ECG) tomorrow at 12:30. Oh, and the doctor put me on blood pressure medicine. Nice, huh?

I’m only 30! This shouldn’t be happening! But, I can only put my faith in God and let Him handle it. And I have. I have prayed to Him, and asked him to do His will, and help me get through this issue. Now I’m asking you - please keep me in your prayers.

I’ve also decided, because of all that has happened, to start really eating healthy. I’m going on a meal plan that diabetics use so I can lose some weight and get my blood pressure and heart back under control. I’m also going to start exercising a lot more.

Well, I need to get off of here. This medicine is making me slightly drowsy. When I get back tomorrow, I’ll let everyone know how it goes. Thanks in advance for your prayers.

Oh wow! I just wanted to let you know that I’m praying for you…

I ended up being diagnosed with PACs (a heart arrhythmia) when I was 30. It really is pretty sobering to start having those kinds of issues so young, isn’t it?

You’re gonna be fine. I just know it!
