Dealing with change

Clouds My morning devotional deals with facing and dealing with change.  Every devotional poses a different question.  This morning’s question is:  How do I find the courage to face change?

Three verses are given for the text:

But you, O Lord, reign forever; your throne endures to all generations. Lamentations 5:19 (ESV)

“For I the Lord do not change; therefore you, O children of Jacob, are not consumed. Malachi 3:6 (ESV)

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. James 1:17 (ESV)

Like the devotional states, changes in life happen.  We cannot escape them.  So when they come, especially when we are not ready for them, we can lean on God.  He is the One who does not change.  No matter the situation, we can trust and believe in that.  His promises are rock solid; His salvation last for eternity.

God’s Promise

19 God is not man, that he should lie,
or a son of man, that he should change his mind.
Has he said, and will he not do it?
Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?

Numbers 23:19 (ESV)

Isn’t that a wonderful promise?  God will never lie to us, and we can always know that He will act on what He says.
