Blogging Methods - Which to Choose?

There are several different ways to publish blog posts, and I’ve been trying several of them. I have found that each have their advantages and disadvantages.

  • Online posting - Blog companies, such as Blogger and Typepad, have interfaces through which you can publish your posts. They are quick, easy to use, WYSIWYG editors, but the problem is you have to be online to use them.
  • E-mail - Also, many of the blog companies have ways you can send your post through an e-mail (which is what I’m doing right now). It’s a good method, but the tools available in the online posting - such as post continuation in Typepad - are not available through e-mail.
  • Offline Editors - There are numerous offline editors that allow you to publish your posts, such as Zoundry Blog Editor and w.bloggar. These offer many of the advantages of the previous two, and they also allow you to put in trackbacks and pings. I especially like Zoundry, because it is very user-friendly and versatile. It will even download previous posts and allow you to edit them. You can also assign your post categories right there in the interface (for Typepad - Blogger doesn’t have categories).

My favorite method is using the offline editor, but I’ve also started using Word 2007 to publish my posts. I use it mainly when I want to include a picture or two, because its picture editor is superb. What methods of publishing do you like to use?
